I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
